Principal's Message

As Principal, I feel honoured and privileged to lead our great school and look forward to working in partnership with our students, staff, parents and broader community to provide our students with the best educational opportunities.

I welcome you to explore our website and trust the information displayed will provide you with an overview of our wonderful school and the amazing students we have the pleasure of teaching.

At Cowes Primary School, we foster a culture of lifelong learning, where students are encouraged to stretch their minds and develop into resilient, reflective, and resourceful individuals. Our dedicated staff collaborate to create a supportive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. At the top of the list when measuring the quality of a school has to be the quality of the teaching staff. We are beyond fortunate to have a team of staff truly dedicated to positive outcomes for all our students.

We believe in evidence-based teaching methods grounded in the Science of Learning, ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education. Our structured approach to literacy, focusing on phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, has improved academic outcomes for our students.

We value parental involvement and collaboration, as we work together to provide a rich curriculum and a nurturing environment where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Children’s emotional and social well-being is a high priority at Cowes Primary School, as we know it provides the foundation to ensure students are ‘ready to learn’ which is fundamental to maximising their academic success. A team of dedicated staff are available to support individuals who experience emotional and social well-being challenges.

Our unique setting includes the Early Learning Centre (ELC) which accommodates 4yo Kinder, 3yo Kinder, and long day-care. The ability of our setting to provide a seamless educational experience for students from Birth to 12 years means learning success is maximised and this success is highlighted in our data.

This website is merely a glimpse of the richness and diversity of the learning experiences at our school and of our community. I warmly invite you to come and visit us, to meet our staff and students and to experience Cowes Primary School for yourself.
